Welcome to our new website. The community fund was established in October 2020 for the benefit of all the Cawdor and West Nairnshire communities. These include.....
The Fund aims to support projects which are based within, and will be of direct benefit to residents of Cawdor & West Nairnshire. The Fund has an annual index linked budget of more than £62,000 p.a. for the next 25 years and offers an amazing opportunity for local people to invest in their community with their ideas – building on all that is best in the area in which they live.
The Fund is managed by the independent SCIO* approved Charity – Cawdor and West Nairnshire Community Benefit Organisation (C&WNCBO) – which was set up to administer the income from the Tom nan Clach Windfarm specifically for the benefit of the Cawdor and West Nairnshire area.
The SCIO can have up to 7 Trustees. The six current Trustees have many years of community experience within the local area. All members of C&WNCBO are eligible to become Trustees. The Trustees’ aim is to support projects that make a difference to life in the local community. They will endeavour to invest a reserve from the fund each year in order to try and keep the benefits going for longer than the initial 25 years of expected income. Our Constitution is available here.
We would love to hear from you with your ideas and of course we are here to help!
